OK, entries close tomorrow for Nationals in Mesa. Let's have a game to guess the attendance. Paul Smith mentioned a few days ago that entries had just gone over the 1,000 mark.
I'll guess 1,869.
3/5 is hardly irrational. I was thinking less of the mathematical definition than the 'normal person' definition: "
without or deprived of normal mental clarity or sound judgment."
Forget the total swimmer count, easier to just count the nerds. Right now that stands at a solid 4, or 3.6 (for you pwb).Ah, geek, you praise me -- it's the first time in my life I've been less than a full nerd.
1920
I am banking on the success of the other two meets in the general area. Tempe had 1912 in 1994 and 1922 in 2003. I realize the figure that was quoted the other day would seem to be rather low but in my experience a lot of people procrastinate and enter in the last few days before the deadline. I wonder how many people will enter in the next 16 hours or so.
