Assuming 33 minutes is OW time, based on last yr's times on the La Jolla Rough Water Swim, that would put you in the top half of your age group.

Although, having done this swim twice now, my time was fully 15% slower :bitching: than my pool time for a full mile (1760 yds). There are so many variables in open water. At 33 minutes, you won't be winning any races but I think it's still a very good time. I bet 95+% of the population cannot swim a mile straight (or even a broken mile) so there. (of course, I bet 99+% of the USMS forum population can and do routinely!) I'd say a 33 minute pool mile would put you solidly in the "fitness swimmer" category.
