I lost a link to this article I came across a few days ago and it was talking about laser hair removal. In the article, it was talking about how professional athletes and swimmers are getting laser hair removal to make them go faster. I know all about the shaving of the body and how it provides less drag. I am just asking, do you know anybody or have gotten laser hair removal to help them perform better?
Some folks get laser hair removal to remove hair from undesired areas
the thing with hair removal and competitive swimming is
you want hair when you're training in season and
you want to remove it just before your big meet
If you permanently remove it
you don't have to shave it but you won't have the extra drag in season and
won't get a performance bump from shaving, plus that freshly shaved feeling.
I heard it only works on dark hair. Many of us have predominantly gray or white hair
my suggestion with laser hair removal is
remove what you don't want to shave & hair you want removed for cosmetic reasons but leave the hair you need for in season drag. many of the college men and post grads grow in season beards to shave off for their big meets. For some people in some places their hair grows out sideways and is prone to getting ingrown hairs and infected. Which makes them great candidates for hair removal.
