  • Tonight is the women's 800 free final and tomorrow is the men's 1500 free final. Far more important than the swimming is the question on all of our minds: which will be greater, the number of commercial breaks during the race, or the number of slow-motion replays of the winner turning to stare at the scoreboard? For the 800, my money is on the replays, but for the longer 1500, it's anybody's game. Pretty cool to see Anthony Ervin and Cullen Jones representing the team for the 50. Nathan Adrian looked severely disappointed.

Ooops! I thought it was live on both coasts. Yep it's going to be a very exciting 50 free. Cullen is an amazing sprinter and it's awesome what he's done with children's swimming programs. It's pretty incredible for Ervin to quietly show up at masters meets here and there....and then take a spot on the team! He's still got the speed for sure. That said, hooray for these two "masters swimmers". Cullen ROCKED! GOOD LUCK IN LONDON, CULLEN! :cheerleader:
  • Ande - I'm new to looking at all these different kinds of swimming stats. Is the first column of numbers in Ledecky's time progressions her age for each of those swims? Also, I've been wanting to thank you for your posts during the time trials which made it a whole lot easier to follow along with the excitement! Hey Greg, Correct, the first number on each line is her age & the 2nd number is the time she did when she was that old You're welcome, I was happy to start this thread and update it with all the key links to follow trials I just thought it would be more fun for us to have updates with all the important links just a click away
  • You mean in the 4x200 relay? I suspect Phelps will still swim that, so unless the coaches want to choose from eight swimmers, I think Tarwater is still out.

  • So by scratching the 200 free Phelps also gave up his 4x200 relay spot? Or does the field of possible swimmers now grow to eight?
