I think Troy is in a tough spot with Lochte. Ryan did not post a great time yesterday in semis. I think the only way Troy can put Lochte on the relay is if he has an incredible 400 IM swim, and even that seems kind of dubious to me. A fast 400 IM doesn't mean a fast 100 free. With the 400 free relay at the beginning of the schedule the coaches don't really have time t o evaluate who's hot and who's not.Training camp time trial. Lochte's a special case.
  • I'm going to double-post and I don't care... CULLEN JONES MAKES THE TEAM IN THE 100 FREE!!! :bliss::ohyeah:  :cheerleader: :applaud: WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!
  • Outside of Schmitt, Phelps and Clary this was a pretty awful night of trials. OK, maybe Feigen had a good swim as well. The women's 200 IM was shockingly slow. Women's 2 fly was even worse than I was expecting. Those are semis, swimmers swam fast enough to advance. They will light it up tonight.
  • Friday, June 29th, 2012: Day 5 Prelims begin at 10:00 CST Lochte scratched the 100 Free finals, so Lezak is in Lane 8 and has another shot. Tonight are the 200 bk & 200 IM semis and the 100 fr final is right between the 2. I also wonder what Grevers will do? My guess is swim the 2 bk prelims then decide later. 2012 USA Olympic Swimming Trials Fri Prelims Heat SHEET Prelims Timeline Day 5 Results LIVE RESULTS PSYCH Sheet Prelims: Women's 100m Free Men's 200m Back Women's 200m *** Men's 200m IM Finals & Semis: Men's 200m *** - Final Women's 100m Free - Semifinal Men's 200m Back - Semifinal Women's 200m Fly - Final Men's 100m Free - Final Women's 200m *** - Semifinal Men's 200m IM - Semifinal RESULTS Day 5 Results Day 4 Results Day 3 Results DAY 2 Results Day 1 Results WATCH NBC Swimming Watch on TV 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. (CST) Prelims NBCSN 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (CST) Finals (LIVE) NBC NBCOlympics.com Swimming Streaming Schedule LIVE EXTRA Sign up for NBS Alerts PRELIMS WEBCAST All but the fastest heats of preliminaries will be webcast live June 25 - July 1 beginning at 10 a.m. CT. • Anyone recognize the guy sitting behind lane 4 (for finals)? He looks familiar, possibly because I have seen him at the USAS convention for years.
  • Yay Cullen! I've seen a little criticism that his 'Make a Splash' work seems to be cutting into his training time, but clearly not the case in recent months. I think the men's 200 BR tonight screwed up a lot of folks' picks for the SwimSwam.com contest. Hey, if his "Make a Splash" work is cutting into his training time, at least it's for a good cause! :applaud: I can think of a lot worse things somebody could be doing that would interfere with their training time. :worms: "Make a Splash" is one of the reasons I :cheerleader: for Cullen; that, and the fact that he is a really nice guy. Both times I spoke with him (Georgia Tech, 2010 Spring Nationals and Greensboro this year), he was as gracious and friendly as could be. And, it was funny how in both cases, we were in neighboring warm-up lanes and hit the wall at the same time and turned towards each other. When I recognized him and wished him luck in his races, he was just so nice ! And, he seemed to really enjoy taking the time out to pose for photos and sign autographs for anybody who asked. I was photographed with him in 2010, but the photo came out a little blury. So, in Greensboro, I asked him if I could get my camera for another photo with him. When I returned, I was going to hop back into the warm-up lanes for a quick photo, so I wouldn't impose too much on his time. But, he insisted on hopping out and putting his arm around me for the photo, then insisted I check that the photo turned out well. Just to make sure, he asked the guy to take another picture of us. Then, he started asking me questions about my camera and the attachment I had on it. He seemed to forget all about swimming at that moment! :D I'll be :cheerleader: Cullen on in the 50! :agree:

  • Great finish by Burckle, but Shanteau should have closed that out. Again! Shanteau swims great 199m *** - U.S. Masters Swimming Discussion Forums
