I was about 1.3 off the 50 free cut a few years ago, when I did my training in a lake. I think I can get closer, but it's a bit of a long shot.
I just missed the cut for OT & Senior Nats (they were the same Qual Time) in 1996 with my 1650 Free at NAIA Nationals...went a 15:53, and the cut was 15:39 (14 seconds isn't much over a 1650 swim).
I'm 6 seconds off the 50 free cut.......hmmmm
6 seconds is fixable. But your anticipation of the start is crucial. When you believe that the starter is about to say "take your mark," dive in. :bolt:

:lmao:
I'm not sure how long the event order has been posted on London2012.com, because this is the first time I've gone looking for it.

There appear to be no changes to the event order since Beijing, except that prelims are in the morning and finals are at night, as it should be. That means that Omaha 2012 should be the same meet format as Omaha 2008. :applaud:

Or better yet, when the starter blows the whistle
Anyone know when they started having OT time cuts? Or did they always have them?
I first swam in the 1968 Trials and there were cuts then. It seemed like there were almost half as many swimmers per event than in the lc nationals a few weeks before.
I am going to say 1964 because I know someone that swam in the 1960 Olympic Trials at Brennan Pools in Detroit, Michigan and they don't remember having time cuts to make the meet. I think that was the last year they had that policy. In 1964, they had trial cuts and they had separate meets for both Men and Women and they were not at the same place like today.
