Epic swimoff in the 100 fly. Cindy Tran went to the 15m limit off the start, and turned almost a second faster than Tanya Krisman, but Krisman posted a great 2nd 50 to win the race pulling away.
Now how many have won gold by 0.01 seconds? There were 2 in 2008.
Britta Steffen in the 50 Free and Michael Phelps in the 100 Fly. Dara Torres and Michael Cavic were on the short end of the stick and got silver. There were also two others at the 2008 Olympics that were short by .01 and they were Ian Crocker in the 100 Fly at 51.13 taking 4th to Andrew Lauterstein at 51.12 and Ryan Lochte taking 3rd in the 200 IM at 1:56.53 to Laszlo Cseh taking 2nd at 1:56.52
University of Michigan/Club Wolverine is looking real good in the 400 Free final tonight with 6 swimmers out of 8 having a connection to the Ann Arbor program. It would be a miracle if one of these 6 swimmers did not make the team in this event. Its possible if Michael Klueh and Michael McBroom got the two spots both seeded 7th and 8th.
Steven 61st, Jeff 68th out of 139 who swam, two DNS!
Great job, guys!!
Besides these two swimmers, John W. Dorr went a 1:03.87 for 59th out of 139. All three of these swimmers are swimming in the USMS Long Course Nationals next week.
This event listing looks odd. How do you have the 100m BR medal ceremony right after the semis???

That must be boiler plate. I'm not sure they even have a medal ceremony, and I'm pretty sure the 3rd place finishers (except for 100 and 200 Free) would not be much interested.
Has there ever been a swimmer who tapers like Lochte? A little over a month ago, he's sucking wind and finishing last in finals. Now he posts the second fastest time of the year in a heat.
