2012 Olympic Trials USA Swimming

The 2012 United States Olympic Trials - Swimming will once again be held at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Nebraska. The 2008 Trials set a new standard for swimming excitement and 2012 promises to bring even more poolside thrills to America's Heartland. Check back often for updates as we draw closer to naming the team that will represent the United States in the pool at the London Olympic Games.   • Can you explain why it wouldn't count as a Masters WR? All these different sanctioning bodies confuse me... Thx, Skip Skip: You cannot set a World Record that is not sanctioned by a FINA Member Nation as a masters meet. This is not a Masters sanctioned meet but a meet that is sanctioned by USA Swimming. All masters swimmers at this meet are not swimming as masters registered swimmers but as USA registered athletes that made the qualifying time standards and have nothing to do with masters swimming. USMS, unlike FINA accepts times for Records and Top Ten from USA Swimming meets. FINA only accepts times from masters meets for both FINA Top Ten and FINA Records.
