Will Dwyer or Vanderkaay swim with Phelps, Lochte, & Berens?
Another tough call. Vanderkaay has the experience and swam well in the 400, but that's a great split by Dwyer. VDK split a 1:46.0 last year in Shanghai. For comparison his 400 times between London and Shanghai were within a couple tenths. I think I'd go with Dwyer. You've got to inject some new blood in there sometime!
I had the opportunity to briefly talk with Michael at the Golden Goggles awards when they were in Los Angeles in '09. I said to him "When you are done with all this, there is always Masters Swimming".
He looked me straight in the eye and said, "When I'm done, I'm done."
Having said that, I wonder how many ex-Olympic swimmers move on to Masters Swimming.
Thank you Michael Phelps for what you have done and will continue to do for swimming!!!!!!
:)
Has anyone at all been wearing a Speedo Fastskin 3? You notice swimmers wearing the Arena suits and even the new TYRs, but seems to me most Speedo suited swimmers are using the LZR. Epic fail for sure by Speedo...

Just looking at the discussion at collegeswimming.com and someone suggested dropping Berens in favor of Vanderkaay. To me this makes more sense than putting Vanderkaay on instead of Dwyer. We shall see...
I watched the live stream of those finals, which included commentary from two non-NBC folks. I don't know who they were, but they were pretty good.
The replay I watched this evening of today's prelims had commentary by two people (Australians?) who were pretty well informed and observant. Then I watched the replay of tonight's finals with no commentary, but with live audio. Fun to hear the athletes talking to one another after the races.
