Dagny Knutson Returning to Train in North DakotaHere's Swimming World's full story on Dagny Knutson. It's a bit hard to read because she's still so young and has been through such hard times. Two of her coaches have quit amidst controversy, she has struggled for years with a serious eating disorder, her family's house was destroyed in the 2010 ND flood. She has moved all over the country, living alone at age 19 in apartments in Fullerton, CA etc. IMO, her decision to abandon Auburn and turn pro is where the serious trouble started. It sounds like she has desperately needed someone to give her good advice over the past couple of years but due to a combination of inattention, too much change and bad luck, she's just been floundering. She's a talent on the order of Beisel or Pelton. She has the basically unlimited potential. I hope she figures out the direction she wants her life to take. That may or may not include swimming.
