2012 Olympics: Swimming

Possibly he just missed his taper, tho that doesn't explain his very good 400 IM. Maybe losing at the end of the relay just rattled his confidence enough to slow him down a little. Other than the 400 IM, he was faster a year ago at Wolds, right? (I don't remember if he did 200 back, but he was def faster in the 200 IM and free.) He was 1:44.44 at Worlds in the 200 free and he still has the world record in the 200 IM after last night. However, he was at world record pace for the for first 300 of the 400 IM. Although it was a personal best for him, maybe he did miss his taper. 5 Medals is still pretty impressive. 6 Top 4 paces.
