Speedo Optimus Fins//Sizing Question

Need some expert help with picking the right size for these fins. They are sized for men and suggest going down "1 or 2" sizes for women. My feet are size 7.5 (women's) but I have the beginnings of bunions and wider feet. I could go with either a Small or Medium. How do they run--larger or smaller? I tried the TYR crossblades and the size small was very tight on the ball of my right foot. To the point that my foot was cramping in the fin as I was swimming. Ironically, I have the TYR EBP fins in small and they fit perfectly (I love these fins---they have gone a long way in improving my body position in the water. Thanks, in advance, for any suggestions/assistance. I bought the same fins after talking to Grace at the "Live Chat", at SwimOutlet.com. My advice would be to get on the live chat and let them know your shoe size, including width, because they are very familiar with their products and quite helpful. By the way, I love these fins! I bought Speedo neoprene water socks to wear with them, thinking the fins would cut into my feet, but I haven't needed to use them. The fins are quite comfortable. Good luck! :)
