One hour is not a problem for me. I have no access to open water here, so I swim two hours straight on Saturdays. Less boring than it sounds with my swimp3!
For anyone interested, the British long distance swimming association (http://www.bldsa.org.uk/) does a one hour postal annually as well. One difference is the Brit one can be swum anytime in Jan or Feb. Cost is $9.
