Why? According to his buddy Ed Moses (look at my post history) ... b/c his 100 fly in the 400IM is just off of Phelps', and that's with very little emphasis/training.
Substitute 4x100 free and replace it w/ 200 fly and that's what Lochte will be shooting for in London: 9 golds.
IF the event order will permit.
But the key is the 100 back b/c that will get him 2 chances at golds (if he wins the 100back and the US wins the medley relay).
I like your analysis. If Peirsol can take on the 100 fly, why not Lochte giving the 200 fly a shot?
