2010 is drawing to a close. We've all logged many hours of training time and hopefully met our goals for the year. Now is the time to start planning for next year. Many of us are always looking for ways to improve.
So... what are your New Years resolutions for 2011?
I have three:
- Get some video and post it here for critique
- Swim an entire Masters practice breathing only on my bad side
- Do a "pure" non-triathlon open water swim race
Be a better husband and father!!!
More thankful for my many blessings!!!
Start (Finish) eating better and lose 10 lbs... (179 lbs)
go 29.9999 in my 50 BR scy
go 1:05 in my 100 BR
go 2:29 in my 200 BR
Merry Christmas and Happy New year!!!
1. Make myself swim a lot more sprint sets, so I can go faster!
2. Go to a meet and enter more than 2 events and 1 relay!
3. To listen more carefully to what my body is trying to tell me.
1. Lose 20ish more pounds before the end of August.
2. Swim at least 10,000 yards every week.
3. Qualify for nationals in Breaststroke.
4. Win a medal at the World Police and Fire Games.
I've got a lot of goals (lose weight, improve this, improve that), but only two resolutions:
1. Rejoin my Masters team, and
2. Don't use work as an excuse to skip practice!
Resolutions
Eat healthier: too many times in 2010 I ate junk food for lunch because it was easier. to help me, my wife and I are going to plan meals for the week, almost guaranteeing (sp) that I have leftovers for lunch.
Swim through pain, but stop when something hurts. The last two years I have pushed my body to the point I couldn't swim for weeks after, this year I will attempt to back off before getting injured.
Goals
Swim 2k Fly at Swedish Nationals (first time since 1987 (??) New Englands)
500 miles on the GTD challange (16,675m/week average)
To swim under :33, 1:13 and 2:40 scm *** distances
To swim all my LCM races faster than I did at the 2010 Worlds, which were a big dissappointment due to summer swimming injuries.
compete in my first ever 1500scm and swim under 20:00
