For me, I just had mine this weekend. :) I was entered in five events: 1.) 50 free, 2.) 200 free, 3.) 100 back, 4.) 100 ***, and 5.) 100 free. old and new PB times: 50fr: the only event I didn't drop time, PB is still 27.53 (Oct '10). 200fr: 2:28.11 (Jul '10)/2:18.99 100 back: 1:23.19 (Oct '10)/1:18.03 100 ***: 1:28.11 (Oct '10)/1:26.73 100 free: 1:02.64 (Oct '10)/1:00.03 FOUR MILLISECONDS AWAY FROM GOING UNDER!!! AAARGH! Still, it was a mega monster 2.5 second drop from my old PB. This month marks two years since I started swimming, though I didn't start competitively until January '09. The piano dropped in none of these events. At the end of each, I was ready to get right back in and race again. The 50 free was just a stupid mistake- I didn't warm up properly, else I would've dropped time there, too. There were lessons to be learned and new mistakes to be avoided after my previous meet last month. I learned them and avoided them. My best meet yet. What about your best meets?

See you at the DAVIS Masters (last chance 1-day) meet on Aug.13th? Hmm... I'm tempted. It's all the way in Davis, though. Thanks for the compliments, everybody! Now I'm kind of sad the whole thing is over. Definitely having "post-meet depression."
  • trym & curo Thanx for noticing my 1st ! I'm having my gone into AGAIN Aug. 1st to repair what they did the 2 times before. I'll rehab & see what I can do in the upcoming S C season.
  • Thanks for the compliments, everybody! Now I'm kind of sad the whole thing is over. Definitely having "post-meet depression." So don't fight post meet depression... Conquer it! Set a new goal immediately after the meet or even better yet? Before the big meet. My meditation teacher used to tell us, "Physical pain is real, but mental pain is a joke!" And I agree with him that getting out for a 2 mile run (or a comparable activity) is a perfect 1st step to CONQUER depression. Hope to see you in Davis! Get someone to car-pool up with you!
