Used to get blisters on the tops of my toes from (stiff) red zoomers. Wore white ankle socks with the those fins after that.
I am sure some people have been injured by falls while walking on the pool deck with fins on. Bad idea.
I was using my fins two or three times a week for hard kick or sprint sets and had to cut back when I started developing pain in the hollow on the inside back of my foot, behind the ankle bone (posterior tibial tendonitis, per dr. google).
Haha. I was tempted to say that. :lmao:
Nice guys ...
Yes, don't drop a monofin on your foot! The fiberglass will slice it, as it did my big toe. Probably should have gotten stitches and a cortisone injection when it became tendonitis, but I didn't. Instead, I now have a case of tenosynovitis that I have to treat.. :(
I have never had ourswimmer's issue. But occasionally after hard or long fin kick sets I feel sort of shin splinty.
Long blade fins are amazing for increasing ankle flexibility though.
