Just want to brag a little about my alma mater, Ohio Wesleyan's new Meek Aquatic Center, now open. The really neat thing is they don't use much chlorine! And the air and pool are heated by geo-thermic wells! Green, green ,green!

"The new pool has ten lanes instead of six, plus triple the deck space for spectators and equipment," Coach Hawes said. "Also, the new filtration system will reduce chlorine exposure. Things are easier when you can actually breathe."......
According to Roger Ingles, Athletiic Director, drilled geothermal wells control the temperature of the new facility. Ingles said tapping into Delaware, Ohio's
geothermal potential is an intelligent choice that will pay dividends in the future."

There really have been some advances in window glass in recent years that make insulating/energy efficient glass much more affordable than it has been. I suspect they used low-E glass for a lot of the pool windows.
