  • :applaud: The men's 100 free field looks monstrous! I noticed that as well. It would be a good event to hang back about 3-4 yards on a kneeboard with a tow-rope.

Oh, man, this is gonna be a fun meet. Wish I could be there! Are you gonna take lots of pictures, Ande? edit: nvm, just read that you are going to be out of town. Well, darn!
  • The Austin Grand Prix allows swimmers with one cut to enter 2 bonus events, provided they've done the QT's for the bonus events. The bonus cuts are pretty fast but definitely more doable. There are separate qualifying times for bonus events. Swimmers with at least one qualifying entry may swim two bonus events. No more than two bonus events per swimmer is allowed. Times must have been earned since January 1, 2009. also your times need to be in USA Swimming's proof of time data base There's a form masters can fill out at masters meets to request their times be submitted to USA swimming My only cut was the 50 free at 27.73 vs. the 27.79 but for bragging rights I did that time 05/2010 in a local USA meet. It was not worth my time to go down for a single 50 free, plus there is another local meet! But most compelling, I have an even more important engagement at yet another pool - GREAT WOLF LODGE!!!! HOWLIN' TORNADO - HERE I COME!!!!!

  • Phelps is swimming the 200 br wonder if he's testing his breaststroke with plans on swimming the 400IM in the future?
  • couple things I'd think most swimmers are training through this meet. Some might have rested a bit. UT Men and Women are on the road during the A GP, they have Auburn on the 14th & Georgia on the 15th Men's Sched Women's Sched So the post grads, pro's and UT swimmers who aren't on the traveling squad should swim in the Grand Prix. I just looked at the A GP cuts, they are pretty fast. The meet info guide reads: Qualifying times: See the order of events for qualifying times. There are separate qualifying times for bonus events. Swimmers with at least one qualifying entry may swim two bonus events. No more than two bonus events per swimmer is allowed. Times must have been earned since January 1, 2009. My only cut is for the 100 fly, went 51.80 in Mar 2009 & the SCY cut is 51.89. My guess is in 2012 they'll move the calendar forward a year & say "Times must have been earned since Jan 1, 2010."
