Do you wear something on your feet in the locker room or not?
With all the icky stuff around, I started to wear plastic slides in the locker, shower & on to the pool deck since they let all the parents wear their outside shoes on the deck to watch their kids do lessons.

I wear flip flops and found this thread by doing a search for "athlete's foot". After about 17 years out of the pool I have returned and after a month or so of swimming daily I have developed athletes foot.
I am shocked to read about people getting MRSA and want to really step up my game to first clear out the fungus and two make sure to not get it again.
I am currently using lotrimin ultra and changing my socks/shoes at least once a day.
I liked the tip about hand sanitizer but when I tried that today it set off the raw parts between my toes.
Does anyone know why white cotton socks are always suggested when dealing with athletes foot? Most of my socks are smartwool.
