I just returned home from the PTC Pentathlon to find my Swimmer Magazine in my mailbox. What a perfect way to cap the day! First, a PB in 50 breaststroke, then spending the afternoon (after I catch up on the forums...) reading Swimmer Magazine! :bliss:
Who cares when the magazine comes?
This one was a good issue. Almost makes me want to swim more backstroke. I know I must be making one of the backstroke mistakes the article describes, but I'm not sure which one. I've had a coach comment that I look like a natural backstroker and my form looks great. He must have been smoking crack, because I'm slow as hell. I guess one of these days after I perfect my fly, breaststroke and free, I may get around to working more on backstroke.
George, the article about Tyler Duckworth was pretty good too. I share your disdain for reality TV, but that particular season of the Real World might have been interesting to watch. The 5 AM Masters swimmer is an anomaly in most social groups. People tend to think that you're a little nuts when they find out it's what you do for fun/fitness/competition.
Chris are you sure we pay with our membership fee. The advertising more then likely pays the cost of production.

2010 Revenue from advertising is forecast to be $79,218, while revenue from subscriptions is forecast to be $4,008. 2010 Expense is forecast to be $445,858. I am not sure if that expense includes the salary of the newsletter editor; I assume she is paid. And we might even need an additional hire to produce a monthly magazine (I'm just guessing).
I might be missing something, of course...I hate accounting...

Congrats on the PB today.
I got mine already. It is excellent. I will send to aztimm on Monday.
Received my magazine yesterday.
Apparently Geek is sending by sea, haven't seen his copy yet.
Is it just me, or do these bimonthly threads show such an interest in a swimming publication that perhaps we should have a monthly swim magazine? I'd pay a little more...
