I still haven't received my Sept/Oct SWIMMER yet. It's pretty late, isn't it? Anyone else still waiting for it to show up?

I received mine today. It reads like an advertising only book. Very little swim information. I am sure the people that put the magazine together really appreciate your comments about their hard work.

Plenty of good information. ...the article "Swimming Through Menopause" . Geek, take note of one of the articles that Chris mentioned in the new issue of Swimmer. This article was written with your specifically in mind.

On second reading I did find that there were not as many adds as I thought. What I first saw as adds about fins was an article. Maybe of interest to fin users. The back stroke article again of interest to many happens to be my seasick stroke. Menopause article again was a no read for me. I also do not read any thing that is hard to read, white letters on a colored backround. That may be because of my age. I never watch or read anything about reality TV. I must say the magazine is very pretty and colorful.

Next time I see you, you depilatory deficient doofus, it's on, like donkey kong. Only a duke grad would fail to realize that wookiee's are able to regrow fur at tremendous rates. No hair removal product is strong enough to permantly de-fur a wookiee

Okay, got mine today, and in the future I will not expect the magazine until after the 20th of the first month of the bi-monthly issue.

  • My swim teammate, who lives one town over, has had his copy for days. I'm crossing my fingers that when I return to my home it will be there waiting for me, and am annoyed that he always gets his at least a week before me. But then again, he finishes a 100 while I'm just approaching 75. I would like the next issue to feature an in-depth article about the nature of this magazine mailing and the postal service and how this thread pops up on a routine, bi-monthly basis.

Amazing, isn't it? Like clockwork. My first thought is always, "has it already been two months?" Always a new thread too, it seems.

Mailing items. I send out many mailings from Point Roberts Washinghton. The west coast mailings usually arrive in as little time as 2 to 3 days, The rest of the country can take as little as 3 days up to a week. I have sent out items to GB, Russia, Egypt, Holland, Denmark, United Arab Emirates, etc. etc. etc. It can take any where from 3 to 12 days.
  • do we pay anything in the first place. Of course you do. "Free to members" just means it is absorbed in your annual membership fee. Going monthly would be a huge change. I would rather continue to have a bimonthly magazine than compromise on quality. The main change I wouldn't mind seeing would be a secure (password-protected) site available to members where the entire magazine can be viewed electronically. I'm not saying stop printing the paper magazine, though if both versions were available and there was an "opt out" ability for the paper version, I would take it. (Heck, while I'm dreaming of the future, let's get even more modern: versions for the Kindle and the iPad that are automatically downloaded when released. I'd probably even be willing to pay a small surcharge for that.) The unfortunately side affect of the availability of electronic copies might be the disappearance of these bimonthly threads...
