How did Oregon do on it's visit to the south?
Oregon played a helluva game in the second half. While I hated to see them win, they have a darn good team(ask shark...i gave them respect afterwards)
Greensboro is going to be a tough sell for me, but it should be decent location for those on the east coast. One location I'd like to see host Nationals some time is the Woollett Aquatics Center in Irvine. They've hosted a number of USA Swimming Nationals and recently hosted Pan Pacs. It looks to be a similar setup to Clovis with two 50 meter pools side-by-side. But I guess the bottom line is there needs to be someone willing to host the meet (hint to Nova masters!). Irvine would be pretty convenient to travel to with John Wayne and Long Beach airports both close and LAX a little bit farther.
Kirk,
I believe nationals were held at Irvine in 1981. My main memories were being impressed by a facility with two 50M courses, getting DQ'd in the 100 fly and doing an all out foot race on the beach the night before my first events and not feeling sore the next day (Oh, to be 36 years old). We stayed in Laguna Beach which was fantastic. I'd definitely do that again.

I would hope the pool would be ready... scy nats are over 18 months away, lcm nats nearly 2 years... Plus, you have the benefit of building in the south where there's probably a larger construction window than, oh, say Chicago! :)
Still things can happen and a backup plan might not be a bad idea...
Ground was broken in May, 2010. Seems like it should be done in time. Scheduled completion is July, 2011. I just goggled it and there is "a major announcement scheduled" for Monday @ 11:30, hmmm. Greensboro is 2 hours north of Charlotte. It traditionally has very cheap airfares, for some unknown reason(s).
I'm 95% in for Greensboro. Of course, as I'll have just turned 45 a few weeks in advance of the meet, I'd probably go to about any pool. Greensboro should provide me with some good family time on the east coast. Maybe I can coax my former swimming sisters from Raleigh and SC to come to the meet and do a family relay with my Dad and I?

Another great west coast location (attention San Diego Masters) would be UCSD's Canyonview Aquatic Center (www.ucsdtritons.com/ViewArticle.dbml.
I'm there.
Hopefully qualifying times are softer based on 2011. I'd like to qualify for two events so I can swim more than three.
Rob if you're not doing it every year...just er, "qualify at practice" if you get me.
