Does anyone know which cities have bid for Short Course Nationals in 2012 ?

  • Greensboro is going to be a tough sell for me, but it should be decent location for those on the east coast. One location I'd like to see host Nationals some time is the Woollett Aquatics Center in Irvine. They've hosted a number of USA Swimming Nationals and recently hosted Pan Pacs. It looks to be a similar setup to Clovis with two 50 meter pools side-by-side. But I guess the bottom line is there needs to be someone willing to host the meet (hint to Nova masters!). Irvine would be pretty convenient to travel to with John Wayne and Long Beach airports both close and LAX a little bit farther. Kirk, I believe nationals were held at Irvine in 1981. My main memories were being impressed by a facility with two 50M courses, getting DQ'd in the 100 fly and doing an all out foot race on the beach the night before my first events and not feeling sore the next day (Oh, to be 36 years old). We stayed in Laguna Beach which was fantastic. I'd definitely do that again. Rich
