was watching a swimming on tv recently and rowdy gaines was comenting on natalie coughlin's comeback. he stated that for every day off in swimming it takes about 1/2 day to get it back. i was curious if there was any other sport that demanded this type of training to recover because of time off. i found that comment fascinating.
my job forces moderate breaks in my trainig, when i am able to get back in the pool, i am always recovering or playing catch up. now i must say that i absolutely love pushing myself to regain my times, stroke, power etc.
any comments
I'm not sure what that means but I don't doubt anything Rowdy says. Perhaps more specifically "getting it back" might mean if Natalie takes 8 weeks off it would take 4 weeks to go from a 56 to a 54 100 free? Not sure. Did Rowdy expand on that comment?
