Extra marital affairs in masters swimming have happened and will continue to happen. When two people share a common interest and spend time together, bonding takes place and sometimes emotional and physical affairs result. There's plenty of opportunity around training and even more at meets & conventions.
Sometimes these affairs are just one night drunken flings. Sometimes they are long term.
Did your affair help your swimming or hurt it?
Did it add extra stress to your life?
How did you deal with all the emotions from it?
How did it start? How did it end? When did it change?

Guess we need to keep our language pg.
I mean the opportunity for double entendre (not Leo Letendre) is endless...
The other day at the high school pool we saw a bunch of "quotes" posted up that were probably votes on which was going to go on their team t-shirts. My favorite:
We stroke it four ways
Hey it's only masters...
Let's be real here. Swimming is a fruity activity to begin with; just look at some innocent every day terms:
Breaststroke
Undulation
Going Hypoxic
Long Pull Outs
Stroke Rate
Strokes per length
Maintain a tight streamline after entry
The Grab

I've only participated in 14 or 15 affairs myself in relation to swimming. Usually they happen when groups of swimmers go to meets so they're only 1-2 night deals. That's ideal - because when we all get back home to our significant others we can pretend like the whole thing never happened. Fortunately my teammates are all socially awkward so when they all look at me funny and call me names like "homewrecker" everyone thinks they're just being weird.
Then outside of swimming, no less than 45-50... when you have a niche you try to fill it. The longest one was about 2-3 months. Then her husband found out and chased me with a bat. Thank God I had my moped hidden under their yacht trailer. I might not have made it!
If you want to know the secrets on how to get them going: you need to have a mullet. Like sex panther - 60% of the time it works everytime.
 Michael, you really MUST be bored waiting for your October 24th meet to arrive... You're giving Jim a run for his money with your posts. :D

:lmao: Way to go, Stud! :applaud: You just caused me to burst out laughing hysterically while I'm here at work... bored... because nobody is calling or coming into the sales center today and I'm finished with my other work. If nothing else, this thread has turned into the most entertaining one in the forums. Way to go, Forumites! :cheerleader:
Did it add extra stress to your life?
Trying to maintain one relationship (and seemingly struggling at it most of the time) is challenging enough. Two (or more :cheerleader:) would probably be enough to put me under - literally.
Don't forget about the paddles, Rich.
Rich, I think it is now officially time to start worrying about Speedo...
Between the "spank" conversation earlier this year and now paddles. Oh boy! :afraid:
I heard from Geek...that when Jim T moved away from NC he was forced to divorce his long time brother/cousin/dad/granddad John T.
Which is why you hardly see the two together...
But we're not spreading any rumors...
Tracy way to pop out of the wood work. :applaud:
But according to Wookiee's latest profile picture, he likes to enjoy extracurricular things with a droid on his back :bump:
