Taper during thunder season

OK I'm trying to finish taper this week and it looks like thunder all week long in the evenings. Which will prevent me swimming. I cut out running this week to just swim each day. Anyone have any good ideas what I should do if I can't swim. Just stretch? Maybe a short run? Rest is good but I don't want to feel like I've shut-down by Saturday...especially if I am going to try to whomp Fortress in the 50 BR.
  • Hey Stud! I don't have anything to contribute ( ), except it's good to see you back on the forums and good luck at your meet! :cheerleader: P.S. I thought Fort gave up the "evilstroke". :afraid: P.P.S. Of course, as a breaststroker who can't swim backstroke worth a :censor:, I consider the backstroke the "evilstroke"... :agree:
  • I could go at 5:30 but that's so early for a mere 1000m. Yeah, I could use the 20yarder here...85 degrees though... I'd go for this or just rest. I have had some of my better meets with a week out of the water. Ar you swimming both days?
  • I could go at 5:30 but that's so early for a mere 1000m. Man up, Sally. Rare to get thunder and lightning that early.
  • Man up, Sally. Rare to get thunder and lightning that early. So if Stud gets struck by lightning, we'll know that Fortress' weather machine is up and running. Fort, how's the construction of your hollowed-out volcano coming along?
  • So if Stud gets struck by lightning, we'll know that Fortress' weather machine is up and running. Fort, how's the construction of your hollowed-out volcano coming along? With a broken AC, I feel like I've been living in a volcano and melting like the wicked witch of the west. I doubt Stud has too much to worry about in our standing 50 evil gridge without my super suit. Unlike super fly Roddin, who was amazing in PR, I am quite sure I will be going slower (especially in evil). My main preoccupation is not getting deeked again. :D

  • Yeah, I could use the 20yarder here...85 degrees though... That could be good for you... a longer warmup with a few fast and pace 20's and 40s would make for some good fast taper swims.
  • What is Aluminum...do you mean Aluminium? en.wikipedia.org/.../Aluminium You must have missed this sentence in the Wikipedia entry: "Davy settled on aluminum by the time he published his 1812 book Chemical Philosophy"

If you can outrun the lightning strikes, you should be in tip top shape for beating Fort in 50 meters of froggy stroke. Just be sure to carry some ID with you. Safety first.
