I am attending the Pan-Pacs next week and I would love to get in some swimming of my own. I know NOVA has a great program there for a pool possibility. Can anyone recommend good options for ocean swims? Is the Corona Del Mar State Beach as good as any? Thanks.

So there you go Karen - stay up in Orange County :)

Uh, Karen? I'd have to agree with Ahelee on this one. As a native from Long Beach who grew up body surfing before learning how to swim properly, who lived in San Diego most of my life and kayak surfed, and a (former) SCUBA diver, the ocean is my friend. But, there are times when the critters in it should be respected (and feared). When in doubt, always check with the lifeguards about the water conditions, and always let them know your swim plan.
Give California a big :smooch: for me! And, have fun! :D
