Due to family issues I had to miss my big taper meet in SCM last year. The next week there was a 1 day meet and I "got " to swim my 3 BRs and a 400 MR in about an hour(400 MR-BR leg,10 min rest,100 BR,30 min rest,200 BR,10 min rest,50 BR.)The 200 BR was lousy and painful, but I was surprised how well I did in the 50 BR.Do plenty of cool downs and sports drinks.Good luck.
Yes this is the sequel to 4 events in 2.5 hours.
They changed the event order round, and I have only 2 words.
HOLY CRAP!!!! :bolt:
Wow... sorry. Just have confidence that you can do it. Get in a god warm up and cool down and stay in the pool in between. Good luck.
What events are they? In my experience, there are three events that have a blast radius which necessitate significant recovery time. Those events are the 200 fly, 400 IM, and 1500/1650 free. If your 3 events do not include any of those, then I don't see what the big deal is.
seriously!
I don't mind doing alot of events in a short amount of time at Inseason meets but, I refuse to do it at taper meets. I have to bail out of the 200 fly, :( , at my upcoming LCM Zone Champs because it is sandwiched between the 400 IM and 1500 LCM. Well, there are relays before the 1500 but there probably won't be alot of heats of that.

They are short events - 50 fly, 100 free and 100IM in that order and its SCY, so I think its do-able, although I don't bounce back as well as I did 20 years ago.
I also think they're in the best order they can be as the IM saps me more than a 100 free.
But yeah - slight shock when I checked the psyche sheets and timeline!
That's doable.
Just maximize the rest as much as possible and warmdown for a couple minutes with easy swimming after the races if you can.
I was once in two exhibition relays... in the same heat. Had to anchor a 400 free relay next to the one that I led off. It hurt. Alot... but i got through it with two decent times actually.
:banana::banana::banana:
I made it!
3 bananas for 3 golds and I am now known as "the one that beat the Frisco coach in the 100 free"
So while the air temp was at least 102, the pool was nearing 90 (if not already there) I did some pretty good times all things considered.
And kiddo got a 7th in backstroke and a 15th in free, somehow managing 2 best times in all that heat. :cheerleader:
I felt a little overdressed in my suit, and should have taken some bath salts along!
:lmao:
Way to go 'Fly! Did you treat yourself to some chocolate after the meet? ;)
