Lately our local paper has had a number of swimming related articles. Not just in the sports section but the front page. Sunday had a nice piece about the post graduate program at FAST. There is an interesting statement in there about the dramatic reduction in the suit endorsement deals and its impact on a program like this. Definitely some food for thought. The article also covers some of the jealousy issues involving a program like this, both from within and from external sources.

That was Sunday's paper and then today the front page had an article about Katie Hoff with another big article on the front page of the sports section about Chloe Sutton and the National Championship meet starting tomorrow.
Its pretty cool to see some local buzz about swimming and the national championships here in Irvine. Usually there aren't any lead in articles like this. And reporting on these meets are typically relegated to a short blurb deep in the sports section. :applaud:

Here is the article about Katie Hoff from the front page of today's paper. Not as thought provoking as the other but an interesting read none the less. Its gives a little bit of insight into Hoff, Phelps and Bowman that I had no idea about.
