I live far from any masters teams (that I know of, anyways). I am grateful to be in touch with triathletes in the area, but I want to swim with other masters swimmers in practice, meets, and especially on relays. My questions are: 1) How do you start a masters club/team? 2) Can you swim on a relay without belonging to a team, i.e. swim with other unattached swimmers as exhibition? Thanks for any thoughts. I originally posted this on the preceding thread, but it got a little scary in there.:afraid:

  • Others can better answer your question about what it takes to register a team. But please keep in mind that you can affiliate with any club you want to. It doesn't have to be the club you work out with, or even one in your LMSC. It may depend on the individual clubs out there whether or not they'll want to have swimmers who don't swim with them affiliating with them, but most I'm aware of have no problem with the practice. Then you'll have a team to swim with at meets and do relays with. And you won't have to worry about the upkeep of a separate team.
