I think it's a big deal...and we will see some amazing races even this year at the Pan Pac's and other major meets. I feel it will validate the hard work and effort these amazing swimmers put in to their sport - if nothing else in the minds of those who said it was all tech suits.
That he beat Popov (the all time god of the 50 free) with only a jammer - wow.
Correct me if I am wrong...but didn't Popov where full leg-skins when he set that record?
