www.swimthesuck10mile.com/.../About.html This is a 10 mile swim through the mountain area of southeast tn. This will be the first year for this swim. The leaves will be changing color, during Oct, so this will be a great time to be in this part of the country(plus no humidity)

  • I think I'm going. My friend & I have been training for about 5 weeks, getting in longer swims on Saturdays, and totaling well over 20,000 for the week. I don't care if I win, I just want to say I did it. I've swum one measly OW in my life - a one mile + 50yd dash (and I won it) so I have no experience, but how hard can it be? Just pick your head up or do *** stroke to check out where you are! I swam in a local river that was 72 degrees on Labor Day - 3.5 miles w/current of .5-1 mph, and it only took 35-40mins - and it was shallow with grass driving me crazy - if I can do this, the rest of you can!! (BTW, I'm not that speedy - I hold 1:10-1:15's on 100's on a 1:20 interval).
