1. You open the door to the pool and get that first whiff of chlorine and think to yourself, "I love the smell of chlorine in the morning!"
2. Your new issue of Swimmer Magazine arrives :bliss: and you immediately sit down and read it cover to cover (including the ads!). But, then, the realization sets in that now you have to wait two months until the NEXT issue arrives.
3. You find yourself counting strokes instead of sheep to fall asleep at night. Then, just when you're about to fall asleep, instead of your leg twitching a little bit, it does a full whip kick :afraid:, and you ride the glide to slumberland... :bed:
Now it's your turn...
you're willing to fight the David vs Goliath battle against the community noodlers to preserve you're right to swim in your one lane (they get two thirds of the pool) without getting harassed.
Go Elaine!!!
ANYWAY, I guess I chose the wrong thread to vent; I should have posted on the "Death to all noodlers!" thread, instead. But, it's my thread and I'll vent here if I want to! :blah: :D
You tell those noodlers who is boss LOL
You KNOW you're hooked on swimming when you start making your own practices outside of your team practices specifically to work on strokes and sprints.
would rather wake up early & go to practice than wake up your spouse early to frolick.
Errr, that may be going too far, but it may be a good way to get my wife hooked on my swimming. (not a morning person, she)
At my pool we have 4 lanes, one roped off for lap swim, three lanes for Water aerobic classes. I have the same problem as you. For some odd reason the noodlers want to get into my lane, even tho the three lanes are only occupied by at most 10 people....
All the lap lanes are taken so you risk swimming in the open swim area with kids just to get your fix. You spend your entire workout dodging flying bodies, knees, elbows, noodles, balls and water torpedoes.
On a NSR (non swimming related) thread, discussion is taking place about a forumite t-shirt, so we can identify each other and meet at swim meets. I don't know how to ad the link to that forum here, so please go to NSR and check out this thread: "U.S. Masters T-Shirt Logo".
If you are interested in a t-shirt with the USMS logo and the replies to this thread, please read my July 8 and July 10 posts, regarding my design ideas. And, please, ad some suggestions, if you can improve on it! :agree:
As for how we actually make this t-shirt happen, bzaks started that thread, so he knows more about all that than idea. Read earlier posts...
Thanks!
