I have been running Hy-tek's TM 4.0 on my computer since 2006 to manage the high school team that I coach. Sadly, my laptop died a few weeks before the end of our last season (we're a fall sport in Idaho). I installed the program on my new laptop, which runs Vista, and could not get it to work. The program installs, but when I tried to run it, I got errors messages galore. I managed to get through the rest of the season on a borrowed computer.
Now that school is finally out for the summer, and I have some spare time, I decided to tackle it again. I uninstalled and re-installed the program with the same results -- several times. I contacted Hy-tek and was informed that as of Jan 1, they no longer offer support for TM 4.0. Lovely. I was also informed that since I had ordered the label upgrade in 2007, that I should have the version of TM 4.0 that works on Vista.
I am very frustrated at this point. Has anyone else been able to run TM 4.0 with Vista? Hy-tek is being very unhelpful. They just keep telling me that I can order the newest upgrade for only $125. What a bargain -- for software that originally cost less than $70.

I had a different problem with an older version of Hy-Tek and found a "problems" page on their web site. You may have already seen this, but just in case...

Problem: Installing on VISTA.
Cause: This problem is due to the recent VISTA Operating System requiring a new Installer.
Solution: Since VISTA requires a new installer, Hy-Tek began shipping this new installer in January 2007. If your CD was provided to you previous to January 2007, you will need to order a CD replacement either by calling the Sales Office toll free at 866.456.5111 or ordering it Online at www.hy-tekltd.com/store.
Notes: The way to tell if your CD has the new installer, look at the files with Windows Explorer. If you have only 2 files, then you have the new installer. If you have 14 or 15 files, then you have the old installer and need to order a CD replacement.
Applies To: ALL Hy-Tek Windows desktop products.
