Long Island (East End) Pools or Masters Groups

Will be on Long Island early July and wanted to see if anyone knew of any good pools or (better yet) Masters groups in the area. We'll be staying on the North Fork between Riverhead and Greenport. I think this is a long shot, but just wanted to throw it out there on the off-chance someone knew of a place! Otherwise, I'll be getting to know my resistence cords pretty well (and/or trying to make myself swim in the cold, cold Long Island Sound.)Thanks in advance!

There's only one lap pool on the east end, and that's in East Hampton at the YMCA REC Center. Brookhaven has a Y as well... and that might be a bit closer for you in terms of proximity to Riverhead. By the way...the bays are like bath water right now. It had to have been close to 70 degrees today Noyack Bay.

Thanks! Brookhaven is only about a 20-minute drive, so this really helps!
  • Thanks! Brookhaven is only about a 20-minute drive, so this really helps! 20 minutes or 20 miles? No way to get from out east to Holtsville in 20 minutes. www.metroswim.org/clubs.html You could also try Seawolves Masters at SBU or the group at St. Joseph's in Patchague. Getting over to East Hampton could be fun by cutting across Shelter Island. Kinda fun. Maybe your best bet is to swim open water. That's what the east end is about.

Hi, I live in Jamesport and I'm looking for a swimming buddy, perhaps a carpool buddy to drive to EHampton. Are you still in the area?
