One of the best counters ever. And it ended with a great (subliminal) message from a Stud :)
Stud told me about that and I just about split my gut laughing!!!
:laugh2::laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:
Gee, I wonder where he got that idea from. Perhaps Jeff Roddin at LCM zones a few years ago?!?!? Made me snort water up my nose and made for a very slow last 50 of my 800 free it was so funny!
Yes credit to Jeff for that...
Tracy, I'm sorry to hear that about your friend and the others that it happened to. Things like that shouldn't happen at Nationals! We train way too hard to have the race not happen or happen late due to a low beep sound and the officials not letting them re-swim.
My dad timed Thur, Fri and Sun and they asked him to pull a double shift on Sunday. After three 4 hour shifts and cheering his lane the entire 500, he couldn't go on. For anyone who swam in the odd side, lane 1 for the women's 500 on Sun, that was my dad cheering you on :cheerleader: Well, except for my heat, then he was cheering my lane. :)
You had some counter for your 500 though...brought a smile to your face I bet.. hehehe
One more -
Mike Taber 52 year old blind swimmer (turns with the aid of spotters at each end of the pool that tap him with a tennis ball on the end of a stick when it is time to turn):
29.74 50 fly
1:05.34 100 free
1:15.21 100 IM
amazing
I loved this one as well! I was in the shower reshaving and he was in there an I got to hear a little of his story as he was talking with another gentleman. Amazing isn't the word!

"In my eyes these people, and masters swimmers in general, are doing something heroic. They are making a statement as living symbols of an exciting ideal. They are showing us that age really means nothing and that fitness is a lifetime endeavor.
In their own way, these guys are sticking it to The Man.
They are telling The Man to get off his lazy butt and stop making excuses for not living his life to the fittest and fullest."

I particularly liked this:
I imagine the days of tech-suits are not over for this guy . He will be wearing it as he fights crime when he can't sleep at night because he can't contain the energy of his awesomeness.
Yet another use for a dead tech suit. :)
