Anyone seen this watch in action? Apparently, it can count your strokes and your laps.

I searched the forums but didn't see any threads on this watch.
(No, I'm not a dealer and no I'm not getting kick-backs.)
Boy, I sure hope it considers one length of the pool as one lap! God forbid I should have to use math to multiply my laps by two in case it doesn't. :bump:
Watching the videos at the bottom of the page I see it counts one length as one lap.
I've been using a SportCount, which works well, but I often forget to press the button at the end of each lap, so this watch would allow me to just swim.
I'm willing to be a guinea pig. :afraid:Anything that allows me to completely focus on my swimming and not counting laps or strokes is worth the cost, which I feel is reasonable. The stroke count feature is what really sold me.
So, I bit the bullet and ordered a Pool-Mate, which should arrive within a week and hopefully it will work according to their claims. If not, it will be on a plane back to England for a refund in a heartbeat. :D
I wonder if it considers a lap as one or two lengths of the pool.
It could answer the last great unresolved question of humanity.

Brits, huh? To me it smacked of a made up quote written by someone without a great grasp of English. Your watch isn't shipping from the UK, is it?
Well, with a name like Liam, the person posting the review could be from Ireland instead of England, but they do use the English language a bit differently than we do in the US. :)
Yes, my watch is coming to me by way of the UK. I just received confirmation that my watch was shipped and it should arrive within 5 working days. So, with any luck I'll have it by Friday next week. That is, provided the volcano in Iceland cooperates.
My bad. I figured the watches are made in Asia and the ad used made up testimonials. If it's actually a British product I'm more compelled to believe Liam is a real person!
It does look like a cool product if it works as advertised.

Hey, don't feel bad. I actually thought the same thing. How can you really tell whether or not a review is real or something put there by the selling company to make their product look good.
BTW - In my confirmation email, "dispatched" was spelled "despatched", which actually scared me at first. Then I remembered that they spell it differently than we do here in the US. :)
