Any other disabled swimmers?

Are there any other disabled swimmers out there? If so do you have any problems at the meets or do you have to have any accommodations? I am a C6 incomplete quad that swims and am entering the CO Short Course Championships, I'm really excited.

  • Very inspiring but I hope your'e wrong about kicking. I have a disability in my right shoulder and arm as a result of being shot in combat when I was a 19 year old soldier in the IDF. That was a long time ago, during the Yom Kippur War of Oct. 1973. I actually have compensated by developing a very strong kick. I devote at least one third of every session to kicking drills. Recently I have been working particularly on my underwater dolphin. BTW, over the years I have noticed that as a rule, arm injuries are more of a hindrance to fast swimming than leg injuries. So your'e definitely in the right sport.
