just wondering how crowded the meet is, how much time between each events. I'm also wondering how long the meet usually lasts. got a big drive the next day and need to get back to the in-laws fairly early, 5ish, on Sunday night.
If you show up at Seattle U you'll be swimming alone. The ORCA meet is at Helen Madison this year! Also, FYI, I got an email saying the warmup time published on the entry form was wrong. The early warmup actually starts at 10:00. I like the Madison location. It's about 1/2 mile from my house.
From the email I just got from Mark Handel:
Please note that, unfortunately, the meet schedule is a) still in a bit of flux and b) many of the PNA entry forms were *wrong* about the start time of the. Currently, it looks like warm-ups will begin at 11:00, with the meet beginning at 12:00 noon.
I just signed up for 3 events which I am in no way prepared for, but would like to get baseline times in:
500 FR
100 FLY
1650 FR
God help me.
The first two should be fun, but the 1650 could suck really bad if I don't pace it correctly. I am not planning on using a tech suit.
Who else is going?

I signed up for the 400 IM, 200 fly, 500 free, 200 back, 100 fly, and 50 back. I've never done the 50 back tapered and shaved, so what the heck...
I just signed up for the 100 Bk, 200 Fl, 100 IM, 500 Fr, 100 Fl, and 200 IM. I'm a little wary of the 200 IM being at the end of a long meet, but I've never swam it as a masters swimmer, the order of events has been against me. I figure what's the worst that can happen.
I'm going. For some strange reason I've decided I want to swim the 400 IM, and I've been practicing for it. I'll finish, if nothing else.
Swim Meet Events

1 400 IM 5:15.00

I've got another question, we have somewhere to stay in Newcastle. How bad would traffic be Saturday and Sunday mornings? How long would we need to plan to get down to the pool?
Traffic should be wide open. Even if 405 slows down through Renton or Tukwila, it sounds like there's more than one in your party so you'll be in the HOV lane. Smooth sailing there. Bing says 33 minutes: www.bing.com/.../
