Hopefully the crook has a significant other who will be appalled by such a thing and rat him/her out. This happened around here recently. A guy broke into a bunch of neighbors' cars about a block over and stole various CDs and other things. He bragged about it to his girlfriend. The girlfriend was appalled by it all and told the police. The police were able to recover almost everything and return the property to the rightful owners.
