In addition to the ones I voted for, add me in as another water lover - pool, hot tub, bubble bath - it's all good. I'm even happy throwing on skates and playing on it when it's frozen, lol. :)

Always liked to swim--but since I learned in a bay outdoors, I have found pools too confining, so turned to running which offered more freedom and no "lane politics." However, out of curiosity I responded to an ad at my local Y inviting people to try masters' swimming. Got to love it--the workouts, the coach, the ... benefit to my running as well as swimming! And the open water races that swimming got me in shape to do!
I like all of these reasons, except the same sex one, sorry just my hubby for me!
I just like the adult swimming community. We're in our own little world sometimes. So when the big outside world is seeming pretty crummy, I like to know that I have a place to visit that's pretty amazing, and always welcoming no matter who you are, or what's going on.
Now, join hands with me and sing- kum bye ah.... (or however you spell it!)
:bliss:
Here are my reasons:
1. it's a no talking activity.
2. I can train hard and not sweat
3. I detest running.
4. It goes well with weight training
5. It's my second favorite horizontal position activity.

Try weighing yourself before and after a hard workout and see if this assumption is valid.
Perhaps what you mean is, I can train hard and my copious amounts of sweat are hidden in plain sight by pool water.
