  • Do something after the last event you care about. Maybe an event you rarely do and have no expectations in. You might be surprised by your performance...and if not, you won't really care!Good advice. Hence, my 6th event entry for the 100 free!
  • Good advice. Hence, my 6th event entry for the 100 free! I'm calling BS on this, you can't double negative psyche yourself out. I'm going on record about this and filing a complaint with matysek.
  • Maybe an event you rarely do and have no expectations in. Or enter something you've NEVER done. Guaranteed PB!

Geek, my brain might be fried, but I have no idea what your comment means! I'm not sure what is BS here ... my sprinting ability (likely) my copping out by making the 100 my 6th event (possibly)

  • I love a good ole gridge between two blowhards who will be swimming way way way behind me. Hmm, mayhap on the 200 but want to bet that you don't beat me in the 200 by more than I'll beat you in the 100?
  • Well, I'm officially going -- or at least I've purchased a non-refundable plane ticket :-) Now I have to decide what events to swim... Some are obvious choices, but when it comes to number 6, I have to decide in which way I wish to be humiliated... Any advice from the peanut gallery? Enter the 200 fly(if you can do it.)Worst case it will probably be the easiest event to place in,best case they only do 5 events (my prediction as I expect this meet to be HUGE).Then you can say"I wanted to swim the 200 fly,but it was my 6th event."

I have having a tough time choosing #5 AND #6. There is NOTHING AT ALL that I want to swim on Saturday and with 400 IM/200 back on Friday and 500 free/100 back on Sunday I definitely don't want to add a 3rd event to those days and I decided not to do a distance event. UGH! Looks like I'll have to choose to embarrass myself with some combination of 100 ***, 100 free or 50 back! Yikes!

Julie, I don't know you, but if you like the 400 IM and 500 free, add the 200 free on Friday. The meet will be large enough that there will be plenty of time after the 400 IM before the 200 free and after the 200 free before the 200 back. It'll be a fun triple (it's what I signed up for on Friday).
