There are a few hotels along 10th street near the Midtown Marta station as well. You can catch the Stinger shuttle from the Marta station. I know nothing about the schedule - you could probably find info about it on the Ga Tech website.
You can access a webpage with an internet enabled phone that tell you the location and ETA of the Tech Trolley. Go to nextbus.com and navigate to the Georgia Tech Trolley. Bookmark the page and you have instant access to ETA of the next bus to your location. Pretty cool.
