At least they didn't start DQing javalin throwers because they threw them too far. But someone could have gotten speared.
Suits, although I couldn't even understand what you folks have to go through, at least it would be interesting to see what events, distances, and styles were at an advantage with the suits by comparing last years records to 2010 records. It's only one year older for the swimmer so the accuracy is there, and I think it could be usefull data to see specific areas where the suits helped and didn't help. Hopefully styles didn't change in accordance to the suits too much. Best of luck, but I'm sure ya'll will kickass without the suits too.
