Patrick-
Why don't you go to Pacific's LCM championships in July (9-11, I think). It's always the weekend of my birthday. They're in Santa Cruz at UCSC again. Newly resurfaced pool, the Boardwalk, hmmm, smells like another vacation to N. California :D
Then you could still swim in Atlanta.
Or the LCM meet probably that weekend at the Mt Hood pool in OR.(I can't guarantee the weather, last year Sat was hot and Sun was drizzling.)
And once again...DAMN you georgia masters for the timing of this meet!!!!!
I am 99% sure the timing of the meet is dictated by Georgia Tech and their willingness to accomodate this event, not by the host team.
Canadian Nats are SCM. I went last year in Toronto, a terrific meet. The meet was run right on time. They also had those new blocks with the raised back for track starts. If you go you will have a great time!
British Columbia on Vancouver Island. Same weekend as USMS SCY in Atlanta (see cmsc2010.ca/.../invitation_e.pdf, cmsc2010.ca/cmsc2010_e.htm, www.nanaimo.ca/.../VT_NAC_04_2009.html).
I would love to go a meet in Canada. Unfortunately, Hotlanta will win out over this one. 1) Location. Only about 1 1/2 to atlanta from my front door. 2) Location. 3) Location.
And once again...DAMN you georgia masters for the timing of this meet!!!!! Why couldn't you have it the week before!!!!!! I age up 3 freakin days before the start of the meet. DAMN YOU I SAY!!!!!!!!!!!
I noticed the same thing, Chris, and to make matters worse it seems like my best events all fall on the days where men will be swimming in the slow pool :badday:. That said, I'm still planning to go. I haven't really looked into the costs and logistics yet, though. I've never been to Europe and this seems like as good an excuse as any!
Oooooh, I soooo want to go, but the timing directly overlaps with a big kid's meet for my daughter. The sad part for me is that Puerto Rico timing doesn't look any better. If I'm able to swim a LCM taper meet in 2010 it'll have to be in California or Arizona.
Come on Patrick, can't you have business in the UK around that time and just pop over to Sweden for a couple days?
Wait a minute. Now that I think about it we'll be in the same age group. Maybe it's best you don't go!
I am 99% sure the timing of the meet is dictated by Georgia Tech and their willingness to accomodate this event, not by the host team.
Fine. DAMN the both of them!!!! :)
