  • I think that Roland from South Africa is on steroids. I mean, he is a breaststroker and sprint freestyler!! :) This was the initial argument on why Jessica Hardy was on the "juice". I remember hearing she just can't be a sprint freestyler and breaststroker by nature.

  • As I understand it, Phelps is wearing jammers while the competition are still in suits, correct? So, with that perspective, Phelps is actually doing quite well. The dopes on ESPN might say that he is washed up though. I think that he is training through these meets and just mentoring the younger swimmers. Overall, Phelps doesn't need to do anything at this point. After 14 Olympic Gold Medals, just making finals at these events just adds to his greatness.
  • This was the initial argument on why Jessica Hardy was on the "juice". I remember hearing she just can't be a sprint freestyler and breaststroker by nature. I disagree. The one and only argument was that she tested positive.
  • I disagree. The one and only argument was that she tested positive. So true. I think that I overheard that at some masters meet or by some commentator at the time. I just thought that it was odd that someone thought that a breaststroker couldn't be a good 50 free swimmer without any narcotic enhancements.
  • I was just watching the 400 free on TV and noticed Biedermann doesn't overlap his hands off the walls. Thought that was a little strange.

Phelps looks silly ... but I think this will fuel him for next season. He is going to take the image of these beatings home and "repay" it next year. Biedermann looked amazing - he just crushed the field. He is going to destroy Phelps in the 200 Free, if Phelps even makes the final....
