I was watching a clip of Lindsay Benko's freestyle video on youtube YouTube - Swim Fast - Freestyle with Lindsay Benko
Around 1:33, she said that when breathing she kept her shoulder as close to her head as possible so that there is no space in between. I wonder which side of shoulder she referred to? The side same as the arm in the air or the arm in the water?
Also I remember vaguely that when an arm is stretched in front, that side of the shoulder needs to touch the chin on the same side. Is it true?
Thanks!

As each arm moves forward, the recovering arm's shoulder just touches the ear. You do not move the head over to make this gentle touch. Inever talk about touching the chin.
