The meet is now underway! Awesome swim by Tom Patterson in the 400 IM. He won the 30-34 age group with a 5:16.48, almost 17 seconds under his seed time. Congrats!
edit: Jeff "Muppet" Strahota dropped a bomb with a 2:07 mid 200 free. His seed time was a 2:18!
Thanks Kirk and Chris for the shoutout. I was very surprised by that drop - 5 seconds off my PB from Worlds '06. That 2:18 was from my meet earlier this summer in case cries of "sandbagger" start raining down from the rafters. Since I haven't shaved/tapered for a meet since Worlds, I didn't know really what to expect.
