The meet is now underway! Awesome swim by Tom Patterson in the 400 IM. He won the 30-34 age group with a 5:16.48, almost 17 seconds under his seed time. Congrats!

  • I trained with Lunk in Austin before the 84 olympic trials. He was lean and strong, super nice guy, bit a partier he made the 84 olympic team in the 100 br, 100 fl & 200 IM 1:02, :54, & 2:03 I ran into him in boston 12 - 15 years ago, he did a celebrity appearance at an open water event he used to like to win every swim in practice, even warm up, I remember one LCM practice where we did a 200 IM in warm up, he wasn't too happy with me when I went around 2:30. he broke a lot of swimming barriers and was quite a versitile swim meet. Think he had a falling out with the SMU coach which caused him to move to Austin to train. Another time when he was in Dallas, he let me stay with him when I brought a date to the cotton bowl. I heard that Steven Lundquist is like 300 lbs and doesn't swim. A friend of mine told me that he was ripped and huge beyond belief back in '84.
